Increase In Borough Roll

The Borough roll for the Municipal elections in November closed last night. The total number of electors registerf d was 1862, including the supplementary roll of 95. On tne occasion of the last election the number on the roll was 1465. The increase of 347 is attributed by the town clerk. Mr Leslie D. Lovelock, partly to the new method of compiling the rolls. Instead of being taken from the ratepayers’ roll as previously the electors are now taken from the Parliamentary roll. This method automatically puts on the roll people who have not bothered to register at Municipal elections but have registered for the general elections.
