Recent Activities Of Taneatua Y.F.C.

Recent activities of the Taneatua Branch of the Young Farmers Clubs included an orchard field day when Mr R. J. Ducker demonstrated to members and local farmers various methods of pruning, grafting and budding fruit trees. A field day was held on the W. D. Reid estate and a recently constructed cowshed was inspected. Something like 2,300 concrete locks had been used in the shed and a novel feature was that yards and races were walled with these blocks. An extensive area of willowing which is successfully checking river erosion on a high bank was inspected the same day. Advice has been received that a remit forwarded by the club, “That an endeavour be made to select an Eastern Bay of Plenty stock judging team to take part in the National stock judging competitions to be held at Massey College next year” had been accepted.
