WOMEN’S DIVISION

MEETING AT AWAKERI Favoured with a perfect day, the j Awakeri • Women’s Division, held their monthly meeting in the Awakeri Hall on Tuesday, September 16, Mrs Haultain presiding over an attendance of 30 members. The meeting was opened with the reading of the Creed, and business was quickly and efficiently dealt with. On. display was a very cosy quilt composed of forty 8-inch filled squares, joined together and made by members of the Division. It was decided to send the quilt to England. Also displayed was a fine collection of baby’s clothing brought in by members. These too, will be sent to England. A competition for the best collection of spring flowers brought forth a good number of entries, the winners being Mrs Wilson 1, Mrs Roberts 2, Mrs Barr 3. The monthly competition winners were:—

Flower: Mrs N. Carter 1, Mrs Wilson 2, Mrs Barr 3. Fruit: Mrs Barr 1, Mrs N. McDonald 2, Mrs McGougan 3. Vegetable: Mrs Fabish 1, Mrs McKenzie 2, Mrs Wilson 3. A dainty afternoon tea brought the afternoon to a close.
