EXAMINATIONS PASSED

TWO SUCCESSFUL EX-SERVICE-MEN The success of two ex-servicemen in the annual examinations held for the electrical wiremen’s certificate is referred to in the quarterly report to the recent meeting of the Rehabilitation Council held in Wellington. Both ex-servicemen had studied with the assistance of the Rehabilitation Board. One, who had almost two and a half years with the forces, had. secured the highest marks for New Zealand, 94 per cent., and had been awarded the gold medal of the Cable Makers’ Association. The other had had over five years’ service. He had been placed second for New Zealand with 93 per cent. Both exservicemen were from Auckland.

The report stated that though it was now over 12 months since the bulk of ex-servicemen had been discharged many applications for educational assistance were being received. These were from men and women back in employment who were endeavouring to improve their qualifications by taking advantage of the facilities for education made available through the Board.
