Grader Tyre Explodes
Extensive injuries were received by a man in an unusual accident at the Wellington City Corporation yards. A large 75-pound tyre on a grader in the yards' exploded with such force that the locking rim around the edge of the tyre was blown off and struck a man who was standing nearby. He suffered a compound fracture of the left leg, fractured ribs on the right side and shock.
