FEDERATED FARMERS

AID TO BRITAIN CAMPAIGN FOR PRODUCTION The secretary of the Auckland Province of Federated Farmers, Mr G. M. Rodger, states that an “Aid to Britain” Committee has been set up by the Auckland Provincial Council. The personnel of the committee comprises the Provincial President, Mr J. Scott Davidson, Mr R. J. Glasgow, Vice-President and Chairman of the Dairy Section, Mr A. C. A. Sexton, Vice-President, Colonel N. P. Adams, Chairman of the Meat and Wool Section, Mr A. H. Blackmore, Waihi, elected member of the Provincial Council, and the Provincial Secretary, Mr G. M. Rodger. Branches are being advised to set up local committees, together with a central Sub-Provincial Committee in each of the Sub-Provinces, and full information should reach members at an early date.

HILL, COUNTRY COMMISSION COLLATING OF EVIDENCE At the September meeting of the Meat and Wool Section of Auckland Provincial Council of Federated Farmers arrangements were made to give evidence both in Auckland and country centres. Representatives to collect and give evidence are to be appointed in the country centres, with Mr A. Briscoe Moore, of Whangarei and member of the Wool Board, as chief supervisor. Mr Briscoe Moore will represent the Auckland Province as advocate in the final submission of collated evidence to the Hill Country Commission. Questionnaires will be sent out to farmers throughout the Auckland Province and from there, general evidence would be gathered. A committee was appointed to examine all the information received from outlying centres. Members of this committee are Colonel N. P. Adams, Mr N. J. B. Dougherty of Southern King Country, Mr S. S. Green of Northern Wairoa and Mr A. Briscoe Moore (ex officio).
