N.Z.MADE COW COVERS

INCREASE IN PRICE The wholesale and retail price of NeW Zealand-made cow covers had been the first orders to be affected by the withdrawal of the primary production subsidies, said Mr J. R. Don, secretary of the Auckland Manufacturers’ Association. Mr Don said he had received advice from the Price Tribunal authorising manufacturers to pass the amount of the subsidy on to the sale price of the covers. This would mean that the consumer would have to meet the increase.

The new prices, which took effect last week, are 12s lOd wholesale and 15s 5d retail for 240 z jute covers.
