WHITE BLANKET
UNUSUAL HAILSTORM One of the heaviest falls of hail experienced by this district in recent years occurred last Friday afternoon. The fall was preceeded by lightning and thunder and fell for some 12 minutes heavily. A singular feature was that though the hail fell on the Plains and the residential part of the Borough, the Strand was untouched.
The ground was blanketed with ■coating of ice an inch or two thick and motorists claim that it was dangerous to travel at any speed on the highway where the hail lay thickest.
