ENGLISH MIGRATE TO N.Z.
THREE REASONS FOR COMING BROUGHT TENT AND CAMPING EQUIPMENT Asked in the Rimutaka recently why he had decided to emigrate to New Zealand, Mr T. Eastment, of Luton, Bedfordshire, England, replied: “For three reasons —I have yet to find a New Zealander who is not friendly. I like the equality of your citizenship, - and because of the marvellous opportunities your country offers children.” Mr Eastm'ent was a tilrner and fitter by trade in England, and he hopes to find similar employment in New Zealand for a while and then go farming. With his wife and three daughters, the eldest 4 and the youngest under 12 months old, he has been trying to get a passage to New Zealand for over two years.
When told by officials at New Zealand House, London, that the housing situation was difficult here and that he might have to wait two years or more to get a State house, he ,bought a tent and camping equipment. He is now prepared, if necessary, to live in the tent until he and his family can find'a home.
