THE WAY TO PEACE
Life is full of sore vexations, And frustrated expectations, With so many good intentions, That are really interventions; But the Weaver of the Ultimate, Has his pattern well in mind, Thought oft to be expedient, He is seemingly unkind; The blizzards devastating blast, That freezes as it goes, Form a vacuum for warm breezes, That revive the frozen rose; The rage and selfishnes of men, Fulfills the Almighty’s will; Who gives liberally, upbraiding not, Though self, a beast-like may fill, The world with war and want and woe, Thus far, no further, can it go, For providence will intervene, And re-create a war scarred scene, Into the calm and. peaceful sight, Of right victorious over might, Of victory genuine an true, That will create our world anew, Bringing sunshine after the rain, Of blood and tears, sorrow and pain; Those who the way to Peace have hated, Will eventually be eliminated, When Peace becomes the sole possessor, Of the weapons of the aggressor; He who fights for self alone, His fellow men will then disown, Unless for his own and other’s good, He joins the coming brotherhood, United by the clarion call, Of all for one and one for all. H. SERGANT.
