REHABILITATION

FIGURES FOR JUNE Authorisation of Rehabilitation loans to the value of £1,181,901 during June brought the current total of advances for the re-establishment of ex-servicemen and women in civil life to nearly forty million pounds says a statement released by the Rehabilitation Board.

Under the major headings the loans authorised in June showed a recession as compared with May. The difference between the totals for the two months was £152,912, and the only increases shown were under the headings for tools of trade and miscellaneous advances. The total figure for the month however was still on the high plane which has been consistently maintained.

Full details of the June authorisations are given with those for May following in parentheses:— For the establishment or purchase of farms £468,328 (£521,660); for the purchase of homes £252,331 (£293,785); for the erection of homes £330,290 (£363,930); for the establishment or purchase of businesses £75,111 (£87,492); interest-free furniture loans £53,378 (£67,248); inter-est-free tools of trade loans £832 (£149) and miscellaneous advances £1651 (£549).
