REGENT THEATRE
“TO EACH HIS OWN” Boasting all the requisites of a once in a blue moon hit—a stirring story, a cast of fool-proof performers and some of Hollywood’s outstanding technicians—Paramount’s “To Each-His Own” with Olivia De Havilland starring, and stage star John Lund making his motion picture debut.
“To Each His Own” is a great story of a great love. It is the story of a girl who lives a lifetime in the few hours she has in which to meet and fall in love with a flying hero of World War I. It tells of the anguish and sacrifices that are hers when she gives up the son born of that love in order to relieve him of the stigma of his illicit birth. It carries through to the heart-tearing finale, when mother and grown son meet again in a scene fraught with potent dramatic possibilities. This could be Miss De Havilland’s chance for screen immortality, for the role of Jody is of the sort that provides stars with award-winning opportunities. From all reports, she turns in the performance of her life, a fitting climax to a brilliant career.
