WEDDING BELLS

TOOKE—DEAN A wedding of considerable interest to Whakatane and district took place in St. John’s Presbyterian Church, Rotorua, on Saturday, 19th July, when Leonora Mabel, second daughter of Mr and Mrs A. v,. Dean, of Waihi, was married to Ronald Norman, eldest son of Mr and Mrs N. H. Tooke, of Putaruru. The officiating minister was Rev. H. M. Bell of Whakatane. ,

The bride who was given away by her uncle, Mr H. Graeff, of Rotorua, was gowned in ivory crepe, cut on classical lines. The sleeves were puffed at the shoulder, tight-fitting at the wrist and were edged with feather stitching. A lover’s knot iri beading was worn on the left side. Her long veil of embroidered Brussels net fell in soft folds to form a second train and was caught to the head with a coronet of orange blossom. White shoes and stockings completed her toilette, and she carried a shower bouquet of white carnations, spring flowers and maidenhair fern.

Miss Elaine Graeff, cousin of the bride, attended as bridesmaid, and was charmingly gowned in pale shell-pink velvet, fashioned on matching lines. She wore a Juliet cap and carried a bouquet of pink tarnations and blue irises. Little Raewyn Kingsley-Smith. made a very charming flower girl in a model frock of the same tone and design, and she wore a golden bracelet, the present of the bridegroom. The reception was held at The beautiful home of Mr and Mrs H. Graeff and was attended by a happy group of friends and relations of both parties. Mrs Graeff wore a becoming black costume, relieved with white, and with smart felt hat' to tone. Her shoulder-spray was of spring flowers. Mrs Dean wore a black costume offset with white accessories with black felt hat. Mrs Tooke chose a smart navy blue suit relieved with white and with toning hat. . . . Mr C. Kingsley-Smith acted as toastmaster, and the following toast list was honoured: ‘Loyal Toast’ Rev. H. M. Bell; ‘Bride and Bridegroom’ Mr H. Graeff and the Bridegroom; ‘Bridesmaid and Flowergirl’ Bridegroom and the Best Man; ‘Bride’s Parents Mr KingsleySmith and Mr H. Graeff; '‘Bridegroom’s Parents’ Mr J. Wier and Mr N.
