FAREWELL FUNCTION
ME AND MRS N. CLARK at nukuhou north A farewell evening was held in the Waimana Hall recently when Mr and Mrs Clark were the guests. Mr and Mrs Clark and family have farmed in the Nukuhou Valley for many years, and they have decided to retire to Opotiki, and leaving Mr and Mrs Clark Jnr. to carry on the working of the farm. The evening was spent at danoing, the music being supplied by ?he Waimana Orchestra. Mr D. Woolfield acted as M.C.
After supper Mr J. L. Burnett, on behalf of all the residents of Waimana and Nukuhou North, asked Mr and Mrs Clark to accept a lovely China Cabinet and cheque with the best wishes of all for many years of health and happiness in their retirement. Mr and Mrs Clark have* always helped in any public function and took an active part on the Patriotic Committee during the war.
Mrs Clark also received a lovely bouquet of flowers. Mr Clark thanked all for the beautiful gift, which was greatly appreciated and the lovely and enjoyable evening given them.
The National Anthem closed the function at a late hour.
