FEDERATED FARMERS
BAY OF PLENTY AREA PROVINCIAL STATUS GRANTED Mr A. L. Friis, President Bay of Plenty rovince of Federated Farmers of N.Z. (Inc.) who has just returned from the Dominion Annual Conference of that body in Wellington, states that the following resolution, closely affecting the position in the Bay of Plenty was passed by a very large majority of the New Zealand delegates:— “That Provinces do not enrol members, or form or maintain branches anywhere within another Province that has been granted Provincial status by Federated Farmers of N.Z. (Inc.); where there is any dispute as to boundaries this is to be decided by Arbitration.” Mr Friis states that this resolution constitutes a direction from the Dominion parent body that the present situation in the Bay of Plenty Province, where two organisations are operating under the name Federated Farmers, can no longer exist. As soon as suitable arrangements can be made by the Dominion Organising Committee an organiser will be made available to the Bay of Plenty Province of the Federation, and it is expected that this organiser will commence work shortly.
