HOT WATER UNDERGROUND
MORRINSVILLE STREAM LOCATED AT DEPTH OF 350 FT. Stating he had located an underground stream of hot water at Morrinsville, Mr C. W. Adams, of Waharoa, a wat,er diviner, claimed that the bore was a good one insofar as it came in a direct line from Te Aroha. The stream was located at a depth of 350 feet, and pressure was described as really good. Mr Adams said his test was made on a site adjacent to the primary school, and he suggested the hot water might profitably be used to fill the municipal swimming baths. The stream was in the centre of Morrinsville. Mr Adams earlier discovered an artesian bore at Pipiroa, about 30 miles from Taupo, where the temperature of the water was 101 degrees. It had a pipe flow nine feet high.
