YOUNG MARKSMEN
JUNIOR MINIATURE RIFLE CLUB SHOOT IN WHAKATANE The results of a club shoot held on July 18 at the Valley Road range was as under: — M.-Whittaker 25, 23; A. Bathe 22, 24; B. C. Thomas 22, 24; M. Brown 23, 21; D. Howat 22, 21; K. Judd 15, 25; C. Suckling 19, 21; N. Judd 20, 19; V. Woods 21, 18; J. Low 19, 20; M. Coates 17, 15; V. Browne 17, 14. This club, formed under the sponsorship of the local squadron of the Legion of Frontiersmen, is now soundly established and holds a shoot every third Saturday. Competition is keen, and a points pennant is held by the top scorer, from one shoot to the next. A handsome silver cup has been donated to the club and is held by the best shot for a period of three months.
Members are keen to try their prowess against any team of six, junior or adult, male or female, in the district, and .assure them of a warm welcome at the range. Any interested groups may get further information from the secretary, Miss V. Woods, Haig Street.
