Forwards: Sadd (Te Puke), Roigard (Tauranga), Ranapia (Whakatane), Jacobs (Te Puke), Tibbie (Apanui), Woods (Rangitaiki), D. Seton (Rotorua), Murray (Rotorua).

Emergencies: Backs, Burt (Rangitaiki), T. Moore (Opotiki); forwards, P. Ratahi (Whakatane); H. Goodhew (Galatea).

MAORI TEAMS TOUR BAY MATCH AT TAURANGA The following itinerary for the New Zealand Maori Rugby team has been approved by the management committee of the N.Z. Rugby Union: September. 3 versus King Country at Otorohanga; September 6 versus Thames Valley at Waihi or Paeroa; September 10 versus Bay of Plenty at Tauranga; September 13 versus East Coast at Ruatoria; September 17 versus Canterbury; September 20 versus North Otago; September 24 versus . South Canterbury; September 27 versus Wellington. ON THE LINKS WHAKATANE MEN’S CLUB ANOTHER HOLE-IN-ONE Members of the Whakatane Golf Club had only one week to recover from the shock of a holed tee shot by E. N. Ducker. The performance was repeated at the sixteenth hole on Saturday morning by D. C. Morpeth who has now played the perfect shot to the same hole on two occasions, having holed out there last season also. It is a good shot that finds the cup at a range of 175 yards.

Results of matches played over the weekend are:— Fortune Cup: Spence beat Howat; Murray beat R. E. Butler; Bell beat D. Morpeth; A. Morpeth beat Reynolds; Akel beat Berg; Roach beat Wright; Pattison beat L. B. Smith. Founders Cup: Harvey beat Tubb; A. Bridger beat West; Littlejohn beat Burke; Campbell beat Cradwick; Carter beat Cockerell; Combes beat Cantrell. Flight:'A. Moore beat Shuker; D. Luxton beat Budd.; Hockin beat Bushett; Steel beat L. Luxton; Sloane beat Barry; Mussett beat Ducker.

Matches not played in the above competitions must be completed before August 2, when the second round is to be played. Those players defeated in the first round will play consolations, the draw for which is posted in the clubhouse. Weekend Tourney

Starting times for the first day (Saturday) of the tourney to be played next weekend will appear in Friday’s issue of this paper. It will be necessary for local players to start from 8.30 a.m. onwards/Luncheon will be available at the clubhouse for those playing throughout each day. Visitors from as far afield as Te Awamutu, Matamata and Taumarunui are included in a total of about 70 entries. TE TEKO CLUB DRAW FOR LADIES PLAY A medal round for the President’s and Captain’s points prizes will be played this week. Following is the draw:— Thursday: Mrs L. B. Smith and Miss Linsell; Mrs Caldwell and Mrs Balfour; Mrs Goodwin' and Miss Murray; Mrs A. P. Smith and-Mrs Hutton; Mrs Linsell and Mrs Hendle; Mrs Waldegrave and Mrs Anderson. Sunday: Mrs Thomas and Mrs Blake; Mrs Francis and Mrs Goodwin; Mrs Russell and Mrs L. B. Smith; Miss Cornish and-Mrs Caldwell.

Last week’s competition results were: ‘B’ Grade Bogey: Mrs Balfour 7 down; ‘C’ Grade Medal (10 holes): Miss Linsell 67—10—57.
