OUTSTANDING SINGER

TO VISIT WHAKATANE CLEMENT Q. WILLIAMS Acclaimed in a nation-wide plebiscite the most outstanding singer in Canada, Clement Q. Williams has presented over 1500 broadcast recitals in that country and in the United States, since leaving Australia seven years ago. In addition he has fulfilled many concert engagements. Mr Williams has just completed a broadcasting tour for the Australian Broadcasting Commission, and has been giving concerts under the auspices of C.E.M.A. in New South Wales. With a repertoire of some 4000 songs, he has no difficulty in pleasing all audiences. He is a master of phrasing and diction, and his voice, of fine lyric quality, can interpret a wide variety of moods. Among new songs to be introduced to New Zealand audiences are four Australian Aboriginal songs, a Canadian Red Indian folk-song, and some recently-composed Australian ballads. On the other hand such favourites as “Where’er You Walk” take on a new beauty. Clement Williams will be heard in Whakatane for one night .only July 9.
