PROPOSED HOSTEL FOR SCHOOL TEACHERS

ONCE again the problem of finding private board for school teachers has been raised in Whakatane. The District High School Committee is to be commended for its efforts to find a solution of this problem. The suggestion put forward by the committee that an old school should be moved to Whakatane and reconstructed to make a hostel for female teachers seems so practical that all will hope that the Education Board agrees to it and takes the necessary action promptly. With 30 teachers on the staff the need for a hostel such as this must be apparent to everyone.
