RED CROSS SOCIETY’S BUSY YEAR
THE report of the Eastern Bay of Plenty Centre of the Red Cross Society published in another column records a year of great activity by branches and their members. The excellent work accomplished by the Red Cross movement during the war years is being faithfully carried on now that the need for relief of distress in war-devastated lands is so great. It will be gratifying to the general public to see what a large number of garments as well as gifts of money have been sent on from this district for the relief of distress overseas. Also gratifying is the knowledge that this good work is going on month by month, and that there is no lack of willing helpers.
