POWER CUTS OFF

STILL NEED FOR ECONOMY WARNING .BY ENGINEER All power cuts were cancelled following the receipt of a telegram on Saturday morning from the Electricity Controller. The Whakatane Borough Electrical Engineer, Mr F. W. Lysaght, said that whether the cuts were to be off permanently depended on the peak load between 4 p.m. and 6.30 p.m. Consumers have been asked to cut down their consumption after 4 p.m. Providing the consumption is reasonable there will be no further cuts, but should the consumption exceed the peak permitted cuts will be imposed without warning.
