CATTLE DOG TRIALS

POPULAR TE TEKO FIXTURE HORSE JUMPING RESULTS On Saturday the Te Teko Cattle Dog Trial Club held its twentyeighth annual meeting on the Te Teko Domain. The popularity of this event was well maintained, in spite of counter-attractions. The attendance was a record, visitors being present from as far afield as Katikati, Rotorua and Opotiki. The standard of work in the dog event was quite good, with the winning dog putting up an outstanding performance. In the horse jumping competitions it was very gratifying to the club to have so many horses entered. Competition was very keen and too much credit cannot go to a very keen young local competitor, Sandy Eivers, who put on an outstanding performance to win the Open Jumping event.

At the conclusion of the programme the president, Mr C. Eivers, pre--sented the cups to the winning competitors and congratulated them on their success. He also, took the opportunity of apologising for the absence of the patron, Mr W. Sullivan, M.P., and the past patron and a very keen supporter, Mr F. W. Doidge, M.P.
