GREAT SUCCESS
THE CALEDONIAN BALL FULL REPORT LATER Any doubts that there might have been about the success of the Caledonian Ball on Wednesday were quickly dispelled when the dancers arrived. The • Winter Show Building proved only just large enough for the large assembly of dancers and onlookers. In every way the committee responsible for the arrangements of the ball set a standard for future social events of the district. The floor was not overcrowded, the supper arrangements were really out of the ordinary through the good work of the caterer, and a thorough enjoyable time was had by the 500 or so people present. There was rain on the roof, but inside the building all was cheerfulness as the dancers joined in the Grand March followed by a waltz and the Gay Gordons. The chilliness of the evening -was quickly dispelled. A full account of the ball and of the ceremony of the presentation of debutantes to Chief D. Anderson and Mrs Anderson, has had to be held over until Monday’s issue owing to pressure of other news of district happenings.
