Farewell to Railwayman ' Mr Harold Newbegin; of the Railway Department, Edgecumbe, is leaving on transfer to Wellington. Edgecumbe residents have arranged a social farewell evening which will be held in the Rangitaiki Dairy Social Rooms on Saturday evening. Higher Drainage Rates? * v The Rangitaiki Drainage Ratepayers’ Committee has called a meeting of ratepayers to be held in the Awakeri Hall next Thursday evening because information has been received to the effect that a. substantial increase in drainage fates is likely. It is in the interests, of all ratepayers of the area that the matter should be fully discussed with, a view to taking action without delay.
