BAY 10-YEAR-PLAN

VISIT TO WHAKATANE MR SEMPLE’S ITINERARY The long-awaited 10-year-plan for the Bay of Plenty will be made known on June 6 by the Minister of Works, Mr R. Semple, when he visits the Bay of Plenty next week. The Bay of Plenty development plan will be the last one to be discussed with local body representatives.

Mr Semple will leave Wellington on June 3 for Napier and intends arriving at Gisborne on Wednesday evening.

The Under-Secretary of Works, Mr D. W. Coleman, M.P. for Gisborne, is endeavouring to arrange that the Minister will receive a deputation from the Gisborne Chamber of Commerce on the same evening, but this will depend upon the Minister’s time of arrival..

The Minister intends to proceed to Whakatane the next day and on Friday will explain the Bay 10-year-plan.
