BAN ON HEATERS The attention of readers is directed to ..the fact that the use of electric radiators is still banned in Whakatane. The loading* position is deteriorating and the fact that a number of radiators are in use is well known to those in charge of the supply. The “on and off” action when the power is turned on after a shut down is a direct result of heaters being connected to the supply. Inspectors are being employed to keep a watch on the radiators. The penalty for using one is disconnection from the supply. The authorities do not wish to impose such drastic action if it can be avoided but in fairness to other consumers the rule must be strictly enforced. ...
