Vitamin D For Poultry
*, ‘ i The incidence of rickets in chickens, a condition which seriously effected egg production in mature birds, was likely to be reduced greatly by the recent synthesis in New Zealand on vitamin D 3, said a poultry authority in Wellington. The product was fully effective for poultry, and, while more expensive to manufacture than cod liver ell, was still considerably cheaper than having to import cod liver oil to provide vitamin D for the birds. One pound of it, when activated, produced 18,000,000,000 international units of vitamin D.
