Nest Eggs Waiting
Nest eggs for a number of New Zealand ex-servicemen—up to £7O in some cases—are lying idle because the men have overlooked collecting civilian holiday pay accruing while they were in uniform. The men are former members of the New Zealand Workers’ Union who had been employed for six months continuously with a Government department before enlisting for overseas. The Auckland president of the union said that these men are entitled to annual holiday pay while in the forces. A number of them who had not returned to the union could not be traced, but the money was waiting for them.
