Juniors Tuhoe United 13, Ruatoki West 8. SENIOR FIELDS VICTORY FOR RUATOKI WEST Ruatoki West advanced from the kick off, and a penalty award saw Hohua venture the bar. He missed narrowly. Tuhoe discovered a good hunting pack and dominated the close play. The three Hohua brothers were prominent on all occasions in loose rushes. It was from a dribbling rush that the black backs took a hand and T. Hohua crossed near the corner. W. Hohua failed to convert. • .

Ruatoki West remained on the defensive for a period, but quickly returned the attack, yellow following up and gave M. Tawera a splendid scoring chance of which he made the most. ' A. Stone had no difficulty in converting. Ruatoki West 17, Tuhoe 0.

Tuhoe took a hand in succeeding play and W. Haumate scored cleverly from some loose scrummaging. P. Hohua made a good kick between the uprights. Ruatoki West 17, Tuhoe 5.

Ruatoki West attacked but Tuhoe improved with the game the forwards playing close and smothering Ruatoki West’s best efforts. M. Hohua at last broke- clear and sent a line finder deep into Tuhoe’s half. The. Black returned again but after an exciting ■ battle on the line, A. Stone relieved and M. Tawera again carried' a clear try one after another. Tuhoe clapped on the pace and some splendid forward work once more had the blacks guessing. Hard open football ensued in in Ruatoki West’s quarter. Tuhoe exerted great efforts to sgore and may be considered very unlucky in not doing so before the final whistle. Ruatoki West 25, Tuhoe 8.
