WOMEN’S DIVISION

PROVINCIAL EXECUTIVE 1 . MEETING ELECTION OF OFFICERS v ■ The ninth annual meeting of the Bay of Plenty Provincial Executive of the W.D.F.F. took place in the County Council Chambers on May 7. Delegates from the following branches were welcomed by the president, Mrs Goodwin: Murupara, Opotiki, Awakeri, Taneatua and Te. Teko. The following were elected as officers for the coming year: Mrs Goodwin, president; Mrs S. Cannell, secretary; housekeeping secretary, Mrs Hayward; vice-presidents, Mesdames Martin and E. Hill; committee, Mesdames Haultain, Gibbs, Dounes and Harty; advisory committee, Mesdames Barr and Thomas. Correspondence dealt with was a letter regarding -supply of D.D.T. for general use, and a letter expressing thanks the Plunket Society.

Mrs Martin accepted nomination as representative from the Bay area for the advisory committee. Mrs Cannell was appointed provincialdelegate to the conference in Wellington in duly, and Mrs Martin as second delegate. After discussion of some of the remits the meeting was brought to a close with a vote of thanks by Mrs Haultain to Mrs' Goodwin in the chair and to the County Council. April Meeting In April last a conference of great interest to the Women’s Division, was held in the County Council Chambers, over 40 delegates being present. These represented 17 branches and three provincials from Katikati to Murupara, Mrs E. Hill, Taneatua, was in the chair, and Mrs S. Cannell acted as secretary. It was decided to hold an annual interprovincial conference, the next one to be at Te Puke in April, 1948. Many delegates taking part ,in the discussions which arose from the remits, made the meeting a very interesting and instructive one.
