An Expensive Hospital
It costs £37 18s 4d a day to keep a patient in the Chathams Island Hospital—an average daily cost of £5 8s 4d. The'figures at this hospital are the highest for any institution in the North Canterbury pital Board’s area, and the weekly cost is four times as high as it is at the Christchurch Public Hospital. These figures were reported to the annual meeting of the North Canterbury Hospital Board in a statistical analysis of various hospital costs.
