Owing to the growth and popularity of the Hamurana Fishing Lodge, Mr Lovat Fraser is reluctantly compelled to disperse his whole Hamurana Stud. This is predominantly a young herd. Foundations were secured from proven families at Avonsyde, Dalemere, Willowmere, Te Hapi, Aotea, Burnside and Brazendale Studs. The herd includes Avonsyde Fancy Star whose two-year-old daughter made 150gns. at auction last year. An outstanding Herd Sire, Ardgowan Reveille, was purchased in the 1945 season for 200 guineas. A large percentage of the young cows, heifers and heifer calves cannot fail to interest breeders. A recent inspection showed the Stud to be in remarkable order and coming off clean, high country they will shift to great advantage. N.B.
