NOVEL HUNTING TRIP
BOW AND ARROWS USED MODERN DEER STALKING Four members of the Hunting; Section of the Auckland Archery Clubs, Messrs Horoman, Jamaison, Simpson and Murgatroyde, spent an enoyable time in Murupara recently. During their stay they went deer stalking with bows and arrows but were unfortunate in that they did not sight any deer. However they at least did bag a few rabbits. In exhibiting the accuracy and impact of their equipment the members proved they were no novices. It is estimated that the arrows would have the same impact as a .303 up to approximately 200 yards. It is hoped that other _ members of the Archery Club will visit the district in the near future. It has been suggested that if such should be the case that they give a public demonstration of their skill with the old time weapons.
