DUST NUISANCE
COUMTY COUNCIL’S CONCERN
In answer to the Whakatane County Council’s letter regarding the dust nuisance the Commissioner of Transport has advised that the question of the difficulties to traffic caused'through dust on the gravel roads would certainly be taken into consideration in any review of the present restriction. He was interested to hear of the difficulties to traffic caused through dust on the gravel roads in the Whakatane district. The Council decided that the Commissioner of Transport be advised that the Council’s remarks relative to the dust nuisance and dust hazard apply to all, other than sealed roads,, in the pumice area and to all gravel roads.
