From Solomon’s Quarry
A block of white stone quarried deep under the oldest part of the city of Jerusalem will find a prominent place in the Maori memorial church to he erected at Moteo, Hawke’s Bay. When. Captain Manu Bennett, a son of Bishop Bennett, was given the stone the old keeper of the quarry said that more than 3000 years ago blocks were hewn from this site for the Temple of Solomon.
