THE BOYS' BRIGADE

RECENT ACTIVITIES CRICKET MATCHES Members of The Boys' Brigade played two very enjoyable games of cricket recently. The Ist Taneatua Company, led by Capt./Chap. Nummy, cycled to Whakatane to meet the Ist Whakatane Company on the Whakatane Domain. Considering that it was the first time some of the players had held a bat both teams had a splendid day. The Taneatua boys pedalled home in high spirits after winning the match by an innings and 10 runs.

Several weeks later the Whakatane Company set out on their cycles determined to regain their prestige. Refreshments were provided by the Taneatua boys in their local Church Hall.

After a gruelling match Whakatane emerged victorious by the narrow margin of four runs.
