Whenever the script of “The Overlanders” called for hard riding, hard fighting—and other tough assignments, “Chips” Rafferty, who stars in the film with Daphne Campbell for Ealing Studios, never once asked director Harry Watt to provide an actor to double for him. “Chips” fine actor and good trouper, went right ahead playing his role without a single squawk. Scene shows “Chips” Rafferty riding at breakneck speed through rows of giant ant beds outside Alice Springs. “The Overlanders” will soon be here. Surface Water A large amount of surface water is lying about after the weekend’s rain. On the bridge over the Whakatane river in particular cars proceed on their way in a shower of spray.
