ACTIVE ONCE MORE SUCCESSFUL GENERAL MEETING The Bay of Plenty Rugby League which has been in recess during the war years has once more come forward to cater for local enthusiasts. A very successful season is indicated as a more widespread interest than formerly has been shown in centres as far apart as Kutarere .and Waiohau. Officers Elected At the annual general meeting of the League, held at Taneatua last Saturday the following officers were elected for the coming year:— Patron, Mr W. Sullivan, M.P.; president, Mr H. C. McCready; vicepresidents, Messrs. T. Wilson, Goodhew, Ricketts, Fitchett, G. I. Middlemas, B. Mills, A. F. Rolland, Carpenter, J. Merritt, H. Bell, B. Tindill, B. Hughes, A. B. Murrees, J. Moore and Te Iki Pouwhare; secretary, Mr H. Melbourne; treasurers, Messrs. C. Nikora, H. C. McCready and H. Melbourne. Season’s Programme It was decided to open the season with a seven-a-side tournament to be held at the Taneatua Show Grounds on April 26. The competition will commence on May 3.
