ROLL OF HONOUR
WHAKATANE DISTRICT NAMES DETAILS STILL WANTED Over the past six months the Borough Council has sought to ( compile a town and district Roll of Honour covering the names of those who made the supreme sacrifice in the World War 11. The Town Clerk has -completed a list of names which he is desirous of including in the next Anzac Day programme, but recognises the fact that there are still a number not included. Full Christian names likewise missing in many cases. In order that the list may be as complete as possible an appeal is made to the next-of-kin, or relatives of the men who gave their lives, to supply the necessary details to the Town Clerk by the end of next week, Friday, April 4th. The fullest cooperation in this matter is urgently requested. The existing list as far as it . has been possible to take it is as under:—
