POWER CUTS
PERIODS ANNOUNCED The supply authorities for the Easter Bay of Plenty have announced that the power position with regard to the area has now been crystalised and the following cuts will be imposed until further notice:—
Between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. afternoons.
Between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. evenings.
> Between 12 p.m. and 3 a.m. early mornings. A variation has been permitted for Friday’s only for Borough supply in order to assist shopping facilities. Power will be maintained continuously until midnight and the 7-8 p.m. shutdown will not apply. This hour will be compensated for on Saturday mornings between 9 and 10 a.m. Consumers are asked to cooperate in the Dominion-wide appeal for the conservation of power in all possible directions. If this is satisfactorily achieved, it is hoped to avoid any further cuts.
