N.Z. HIGHEST PRODUCER OF FOOD PER HEAD

The British Government had published figures showing that the workers on the farms in New Zealand produced the largest amount of food per head of any farming country in the world, said Mr A. P. O’Shea in an address' to the Associated Chambers of Commerce in Napier recently. According to statistics, they have an output of £450 per worker per annum and produce enough food to feed 33 people. The next highest figures are from Australia with a production of £3OO per worker and food for 29 people. The figures for Great Britain and the United States, the next in order, are respectively £205 and £lB5, and food for 17 and 13 persons.
