RIFLE SHOOTING
RANGITAIKI DEFENCE CLUB RECORD ATTENDANCE Trie Rangitaiki Defence Rifle Club held another successful practice shoot last Saturday, thirty-four members being present, establishing another record attendance. Most riflemen now possess their own rifles though aperture sights are very hard to procure. Shooting so far has been confined to the short ranges in order to permit men with new rifles to zero them:
The next shoot will probably be held at the 500 and 600 yard range. On Saturday the weather'was fine but the marksmen found the light very hard. Moore and Davies made highest aggregate for the day with 65. Moore-beat Davies on the count back having the highest score on the long range. Conditions were seven shots at 200 and 300 yards.
Next shoot wil be held on Saturday, March 29. Details of Saturday’s shoot were as under:—
