ADULT EDUCATION

FORTHCOMING COMMUNITY WEEK COMMENCING NEXT MONDAY Under the auspices of the Auckland Adult Education Centre, a Community Week series of lectures will commence in Whakatane on Monday next (March 17th), and will be continued until Friday (March 21st). The programme will be conducted along the same lines as those covering last year’s Community Week and will embrace afternoon and evening sessions. During the day sessions will - be held in t£ie Methodist Hall at 2 p.m. and in the evening in the High School commencing at 7.30 p.m. It is hoped to have at least one lunchtime musical session in the theatre. There will be two panel discussions of particular interest to parents and two film sessions—one day, and one evening. Arrangements have also been made to give three lunch-time sessions at the Paper Mills. The lecturers will be Messrs. Jensen, Olssen and McDougall, and Miss Smith, all of whom will be remembered by those who attended last year’s series. It is hoped that even greater public interest will be taken in the 1947 series, than that shown last year, when visiting lecturers joined in praising the consistent attendances and the obvious interest which was shown in the various subjects. 3?' jpPj?
