RED CROSS

THORNTON SUB-CENTRE ANNUAL MEETING The annual meeting of the Thornton Sub-Centre was held in the Thornton Hall on March 16, Mrs A. Robb presiding. Mrs Robb gave an acount of the activities of members during the past nine months, the list of sewing comprising 86 garments made from Red Cross materials, 105 old garments given and collected by members. Nominations for president were "” 7 Vd for, which resulted in Mrs Robb being re-elected. Mrs Gordon, Vice-president; Mrs C. T. Smith, Secretary; Committee, Mesdames D. Branch, T. Branch, Checkley, Goodwin, McDonald, Sheat, Watt, Mexted. It was decided by the committee M --t they hold a Children’s Fancy Dress Ball on April 26 in aid of Red Cross funds. Members will meet as usual on the hi st Thursday in every month.
