Taneatua Golf Club
Attention of members and intending members of the Taneatua Golf Club is drawn to the change of date of the annual meeting which is now to be held on Tuesday, March 18. Gate Crasher Caught A .gate crasher to Cook’s Gardens, Wanganui, on the occasion of the opening of the New Zealand band contests, was caught and ordered off the grounds by the police. Boy scouts, working on a preconceived plan of action, were responsible for catching the fence jumper. Operating in pairs, the scouts were posted at various vantage stops on the grounds. When the gate crasher gained his illicit entry to the grounds one of the scouts trailed him and the other notified the police. Following the night of the American athletes’ visit, when it was estimated that half of the 8000 spectators had failed to pay admittance, steps were taken to improve the fences and keep a closer watch.
