WHAKATANE COUNTY COUNCIL DOG REGISTRATION Pursuant to Section 8 of “The Dog Registration Act 1908,” notice is hereby given that the fee for the registration of dogs for the year 1947 is now payable to Mr A. Carling, Registrar of Dogs, at the County Council Chambers, Whakatane. The amount of the fee has been fixed as follows: For each dog kept solely for the purpose 6f destroying rabbits 1/-. For each dog kept solely for the purpose of herding or driving sheep or cattle 2/6. For any other dog 5/-. HYDATID DISEASE: In accordance with the provisions of the Dogs’ Registration (Prevention of Hydatid Disease) Regulations, 1938,. all owners must, when registering dogs, purchase a supply of the approved remedy for Hydatid Disease, the charge for which is 1/- for each dog registered. The Registrar has been instructed to destroy all unregistered dogs, and dog owners are advised that the maximum penalty for harbouring an unregistered dog is £5. C. G.
