MORE BAIT FOUND

POISONER StILL ACTIVE DISCOVERIES BY CHILDREN On Friday school children arrived at school carrying three pieces of raw meat which they handed to their teachers declaring that they had found them o|n the footpaths in Kopeopeo. The meats resemble in every way the thinly cut pieces which have been used by the dog-poisoner over the past week. V The above incident should serve as an urgent warning to parents to safeguard their children in this respect by instructing them minutely in the type of meat which is being used and warning them to keep well away from it. On Saturday Mr Oswald when engaged in mowing his lawn discovered no less than three baits, which had apparently been thrown there. The search for the person responsible continues unabated, and has been narowed down considerably by the fact that it is known he must be a resident of some years standing due to the recurring nature of the offences. In the same manner the approximate area in which he lives has been pinpointed and it is considered only a matter of time before his identity is known. As we go to press we learn of another dog—a pedigree belonging to Mr Cameron of the Heads, which was poisoned yesterday, but which was saved by doling with bluestone.
