Mechanised Maize Pickers
Speaking at a meeting of the Tauranga branch of Federated Farmers (Auckland Province) Mr R. W. Dunning (sub-provincial president) referred to the current belief that mechanical maize pickers'had prov- ! ed a failure. He" understood that this had not been the case, and that provided a sufficiently powerful tractor was employed, the machines were ad justed to the correct tension and the crop was planted by a method suited to the machine mechanical pickers were quite successful. The crop would have to be reasonably free from weeds.
