RANGITAIKI DEFENCE CLUB
INTERESTING PRACTICE SHOOT
The Rangitaiki Rifle Club held a practice shoot last Saturday commencing at 11 a.m. The attendance was easily a club record. The contingent of marksmen from Opouriao has strengthened the club considerably. Judging by the improved shooting on Saturday it will not be long before the Rangitaiki Rifle Club once again has a strong representative team. Davies was again in form and headed the list with 48. Conditions, 10 shots at 200 yards. Scores:— L. Davies 48, C. Penny 46, W. Mayo 45, J. T. Barr 43, R. Burgess 42, V. Green 41, G. Jones 41, R. Baguley 39, A. Moore 39, J. Butler 39, P. Mayo 38, T. Baldock 24, C. Renata 23. The next shoot will be held during the weekend following the Whakatane Show in a fortnight’s'time.
GENERAL MEETING ELECTION OF OFFICERS A general meeting of the club was held on the rifle range last Saturday at 2 p.m. There was a record attendance. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year:— President: A. R. Burgess. Hon. Secretary: W. Moore. Deputies: Don Currie and R. Baguley. Patron: lan Gow. Shooting Committee: L. Davies, R: Baguley, A. R. Burgess, W. Moore and W. Mayo. Range Officer: W. Moore. Auditor: D. Currie. Handicappers: W. Moore and L. Davies.
